    4.3 vortec's are they the same?

    hey , i have a 1995 4x4 s10 blazer with a bad motor. are the bottum ends of all 4.3 motors the same. like could i put my intake and plentum on any 4.3 vortec heads and bottum end?

    all bottom ends are not the same, however you can interchange any year s-series bottom end and any year s-series top end

    top end includes intake and cylinder heads

    ok cool , what i was looking at doing was finding a tpi vortec motor and put my plentum intake on it.

    some have the balancing shaft, like the cpi, and some dont

    there is no such thing as a tpi vortec

    well technically that cpi is a v6 version of the tuned port v8's. just not external mounted injectors.

    and technically TPI motors do not have a tuning valve in the intake to vary runner length, so its a whole different animal....

    The difference between Vortec an non-Vortec is the head design. TPI never came with Vortec heads and a CPI plenum/manifold will only bolt up to a Vortec head,the bolt angles are different just like the 350 Vortec/non-Vortec heads.

    ok cool .sorry about the tpi i thought thats what they call they newer ones like this. so this style of vortec engine will allow the plenum intake
    to switch straight over?

    sorry again i hope this clears up exactly what im trying to think/say. thanks everybody for the help
