    1995 Blazer, CRACKLING PLASTIC

My sister just bought a 95' Blazer 4-Door. Under the hood I found a load of black plastic pieces on the A/C system near the firewall. The pieces look like the top half of a box covering a sealed plastic unit where the A/C metal tubing goes into. The plastic broke off into my hands like a thin Hershey's chocolate bar. I had to clear about a pound of it from the engine compartment. I wish I would have gotten a picture of it. Has anyone else ever heard of, or seen this before?

This happened on my 95, too. I took off almost everything surrounding the AC stuff. It's made thin and easy to cut if it ever needs replacement. Years of temperature differences have made it brittle.

It's happening in my 02, but the ac and heat work just fine.

Found that the plastic headlight housings are made of similar bad plastic (95) while I did the oven trick last night. One of my housings cracked just about everywhere I tried to pry. Plastic was weaker than the sealant!!! I should have them done today or tomorrow (went beyond removing the reflector) and still have to figure a way to seal it closed....
