    I am Back

Well some of you guys may have remembered my last project quite a few years ago. It was a leased 2001 Blazer Xtreme that underwent everything just short of a body drop. I included a few pics of it below. A quick recap, mid-12 second, fully bagged, custom paint, 350 chevy. Well after being out of the game for a few years I got the itch again............... New Project is a 1999 4dr Jimmy. I just bought on ebay (a few minutes ago). It has a blown 4.3l motor but I have no intention of putting that back in. I like old school simple to work on motors, so my plan is to buy a Vortec L31 5.7 block and built a solid 10:1 carbed motor and (like the last motor) install the GM LT4 Hot Cam setup and pair it to a TH350 trans (they are strong, and cheap). I have plans of doing a minor Body Drop (yes I know there is no such thing as a "minor" body drop). What I mean by minor is I do NOT want the body to touch the ground when aired out. I am just looking to hide most of the frame (maybe leaving 1/2-3/4" of frame still below the body line). The reason for this plan is (like the last one) I will be putting a lot of time into the custom paint job. So when I lay it out (or if the air system ever fails) I do NOT want the body getting scuffed up. I plan to go with the Prostreet look again. It will be a long term project as I have had Back Surgery (L5-S1 Fusion) since the last build. So I have to move at a much slower pace. I will begin a new website for the truck tear down and rebuild (as I did on the last project). I can't wait to get this thing home!!!

Here are a few pics of the project. I haven't seen it in person, but if it is 1/2 as good as the pics show, at just over $1000 it is worth it.

Can we use a different term in place of "old timer"? It makes me feel old:ugh:

On another note. I trailered the truck home from the Chicago area last Friday. I am now trying to sell off the 4L60E and the blow 4.3L motor. I have already purchased a TH350 trans and a 2500RPM Stall converter. Picked them up together for $200.00.

I hope to get the truck in the garage sometime in the next few weeks to pull the interior out completly. My hopes are to have the body off of the frame by the end of the month so I can get the frame stripped, new stainless lines, fuel cell and air suspension done. Then I will work on putting the body back on, but a few inches lower. My "goal" is to have the truck on the road by late summer and then I will give the body the full shaving and smoothing treatment over the winter.

I have a new site launched, www.bradzgarage.com. THis is where all of the progress on this project will be documented with pics along with all of my other past and current projects.....

I can't wait to get started, it has been way too long since I have wrenched on something other than my RC race trucks:D
