Oh it's not that it's hard. I just don't have the tools to do any of it. I don't have a welder either, lol.

Yea that makes it difficult for sure, lol. If your ever in my area let me know, I'll knock it out for you after measuring took about half hour to cut. Bought a sheet of 14 guage steel, box will be 10x 7 1/2 x10 with matching cover with 1" border for top to bolt on, having a Break and also Tig and Mig makes life real easy when building stuff. battery I'm using is for an 06 Vette 32 lb.

I'll keep that in mind if I'm ever out there. That sounds like a good size for the battery. Are you using it as the main one or adding one? I've wanted to relocate mine but no tools and I don't want it directly inside my jimmy and never thought to do what you are doing. Keep the pics coming tho. Thanks for the info on it.

It will be my main battery, there is 7" from frame rail to inside of rear quarter, with 5.5" from top of rear shackle to floor, I cut into the inside panel so I could drop it deeper and clear the bolt for rear leaf and go towards outside panel and also use it for sort of a support. this way the only thing inside my truck is the top with 1" side. By the way did all of it with a cutoff wheel

Sounds like you know what you're doing. I tried using a cut-off wheel today and it took forever to cut my bumper so I can get what I need to make a new bumper. Post pics when you get more done.

I'd like to get mine in that spot. It sounds like a better place for it to be in.
