    catalytic converters

The pre cat went out in the xtreme a few years back, cut it out, put a piece of pipe in place and the blazer has run great. Then two weeks ago the main cat goes out, had a stock '10 Camaro exhaust sitting in the garage and put one of those on. Blazer ran good for about a week and now I'm getting the P0420 SES light.

damn camaro cat flows too much.

anyone know where to get a replacement cat worth a shit that doesn't cost $400+?

I can get my tuner to build me a new y-pipe with no cats and tune out the rear o2, also fix my rear main seal for around $600. so if the cats i find are 500ish i may just go to the tuner

I vote for the "tune out the cat, but leave the camaro in" option.

surpised that camaro cat is not letting the rear o2 read properly. Where is it at, around the door area?

yeah the cat is around the door, where the stock cat was, problem is the camaro cat is about 1/4 the size of the blazer cat

I'm going to talk with the tuner tonight and see if he can tune the rear o2 out for now and see what happens.

It also backfires in the y-pipe from the 1-2 shift......i can feel it in the floor when it does it

reason i was asking is the cat may be too far back. It can be alot hotter just 6inches away from your headers. That MAY be your whole problem.

well i'm just tuning the blazer. I had the rear o2 and some other things turned off, going back in a couple weeks to have it fully tuned (something I've wanted to do). One of the guys at the shop has a 4dr blazer and he put it on the dyno and tuned it. Got close to 40-50hp gain just on a tune. When I go back I'll have videos and dyno sheets to prove any gains.

I breaks up bad on top end at WOT, throws the flashing SES light. I was told since I have the after market intake, and now pretty much straight exhaust I need it tuned for more fuel at WOT, he did change my MAF 7* due to my intake and upped some line pressure so she does run and shift better anything under 3/4 throttle

just a mail order tune did wonders for my zr2. I can only imagine what an in persone tune did on an xtreme.

once i do a few more mods im going to get the zr2 dyno tuned. I want to do 1.6 full roller rockers and a 2.25" y pipe.

he asked what my plans were for the xtreme.......I may get a custom 2.25" y-pipe with no cats and that would be it, but as I told him, nothing until the 5.3 goes in;)

so full tune on what I got, and upgrading the y-pipe after the tune might not do anything since I pretty much don't have cats now

    let's see.......uummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

WHEN I PUT A FUCKING 5.3L LS MOTOR IN THE XTREME

until then, I have what I want on my blazer, now we are talking about the 4.3s that aren't worth the money of that type of exhaust

so, when are you going to be on topic instead of posting from your ass?

so more shitty updates for now

today took the xtreme in for blanace and rotate.......still fucking shakes around 65mph

also had them check the alignment........told me the rear bushings on both upper arms are shot and need to be replaced........they look fine to me, but he said they are "pushing out"

and to top it off, 1/2 throttle or higher and it boggs down and I get the flashing SES light if I stay in it.........fells like the new camaro cat is gone

so tomorrow the cat is coming off, and a straight pipe is going in.......I have the cats tuned out so i'm good to go on that

    FML........
