    Secondary Air Injection

    2001 Blazer X

Ive had this P0410 code for almost a year now, inspection is up end of month so I gotta get it fixed

So ive read it could be:

    The pump itself
    Bad check Valve
    Bad vacuum switch
Blown fuse that is located under the battery?

or a combination of all of the above. Evidently water gets into the pump, freezes and/or corrodes the unit which trips the SES.

I dont want to waste alot of time fixing this because a) its winter and b) I hate fixing cars these days....but I will fix it myself.

So whats the deal with this thing? sHould I go ahead and order a new pump before I start working on it?

GM/AC Delco Part numbers (Harley?) would help too.
this is a test of the sig

I replaced my entire pump and hoses for to fix the light with new ones that were supposed to prevent the failure from happening again...they broke just over a year later. I wish I knew how to program that out of the system. I hate driving with the SES light on.

What causes the replacement? Missing? Torn? Something else?

Having any backfire issues? Only thing I can think of that would destroy the hose in a couple of weeks like that would be some sort of exhaust back fire through the valve and AIR system.

sounds like a bad check valve in the A.I.R. system.

replaced the check valve. It was stuck open and was allowing exhaust back through. Heads up for any one else with that problem.
