    Ac clutch

    4.3 v6 xtreme an the ac clutch will spin then stop, can i replace just the clutch wheel or will i haveto replace the whole unit

    the system is most likely low on refrigerant.

    try bypassing the low pressure switch with a piece of wire and see what happens.

    Why would that stop the wheel from spinning then kick on then kico off again

    on an A/C system if the pressure is too low or the system is empty it will not run, if it's getting low it will cycle (kick on and off) like the old A/C systems. Full pressure no problems.

    It will kick on and off if the pressure is low so you don't ruin your A/C system. On the dryer (aluminum can on the passenger side with hose from compressor) there should be a pressure switch with a plug. Unplug it and take a wire and loop the two ends on the plug while the motor is running and the A/C is turned on. If the compressor doesn't kick off with the plug looped your low on freon or the switch is bad. Most of the time an o-ring drys out, rips, and leaks the freon out

    An these problems will occuor even if he ac hasnt been used?

    like everyone else said low a/c pressure there is a leak somewhere..

    If you don't run the A/C from time to time the freon doesn't lube the seals and- vvvvvv
