    amp wiring questions

first off i wanta say im not making a huge system LOUD db DRAG SYSTEM!I however want it to sound good. Im adding a after market headunit a sub and maybe door speakers and another small amp for those later on. I got this amp free and a sealed 1x12 box from a buddy. ran the amp bridged to a dual voice coil sub in my bagged 89 2 door with a 500k micro farrad cap. at the time i was told by the same person to run a 10 ga wire with a 30 amp fuse. i never had any problems with this wiring. I wanta make sure that this is gonna be ok on my newer 02 4 door.

    1. Will 10 ga be enough for my amp prob 16/17 feet from the battery? or should i use 8ga?

    2. Will a 30 amp fuse at the battery be to much or not enough? the amp has a 25 on it

    3. Is the farrad cap big enough? do i even need it?

    4. what whould be a good 1x12 sub and amp combo thats louder than what i will be running now?

10ga is fine, 30 amp at the battery is ok, cap not needed but any cap would be fine if you want one

that sub would work on that amp in stereo or series bridged, so basically half the power.

dhd is swap meet. if you want to do it right and cheap. ditch the cap. call us amps tell them you want a custom se xxx 12 that will be around 150 then get a xtant 1001x off ebay for around 200 300 build a nice ported box and enjoy some very good sound quality for cheap

I got the amp free. and paid $25 bucks for a used sub. so im not deep $$$ into this set-up. im gonna upgrade to a mono amp and new sub. maybe do a ported box. maybe a amp for mids and highs. all name brand. this is just to have it sounds better. and im allready happy.
