95 2WD Blazer Lowered but rear didn't drop

    Hi everyone.anyone.
95 Blazer S10 2WD. Front 3" coil springs drop. Back I put in 3" blocks but it didn't drop much so I put in 3" lowering leaf springs and no change. What is holding it back from cropping. the axle sway linkage or whatever the correct term is?
I think I am a dumbass and likely didn't need the 3" blocks AND 3" drop leafs. You can also EMail at boomertee@yahoo.com I will do a free custom full color t-shirt with your photo to those who can really help me out. I print with the new cool Direct To Garment printer at boomerts.com

If you put in a lowering block then the sway bar wouldn't keep it from being lower. Unhook the shocks and the sway bar and let the truck sit under its own weight and see if it lowers then.

If you put in a lowering block then the sway bar wouldn't keep it from being lower. Unhook the shocks and let it down, see if it drops then. If not then unhook the sway bar and let the truck sit under its own weight and see if it lowers then. If it does on either of these then the problem lies with which ever one you changed. You may need drop shocks. Also you can check to see if you are resting on the bump stops. If so, remove them. Another thing to check is the frame, make sure the axle isn't hitting the frame already, if it is then you need a c-notch.

Post up some pics if you can. That will help us help you.

THANKS!! I will take some pics tonight. I am guessing it was ridiculous to put blocks and lower leaf springs both, huh? I didn't think the shocks would restrict it from being lower. I tried to save a 163k jog but it keeps erroring out. The front now is all the way down to the top of my 20's. I have a 45 sidewall... probably should have gone with 35

ive got blocks and drop leafs, but my truck is very low. However, id almost guess it sitting on the bump stops. Putting in 3 inch blocks should give you a full 3 inches of drop unless the axle is hitting something. With leaf springs you may not get the full drop due to the stock springs being old and settling, so in the end it seems like you dont get as much drop as you thought. Most drop leafs are measured VS a fully stock, new spring, not one with 200k on it.

I have tried to upload photos but following their steps, I keep getting an error message. I went to the manage attachments and tried to upload a 96 kb jpg file. WTF?
So-- I disconnected my shocks. The back end is still about 2" higher than the front . The back end is like 2" above the top of the rear tire. I have a 3" lowering block AND I put on lowering leafs. The Blazer was real bouncy with the shocks connected and just as bouncy without them connected. You guys have kick ass pics of your trucks low in the back. So any other tips , help etc?? Thanks !!!

Im pretty sure they have turned off attachments on this forum. To upload pics you will need to go to www.photobucket.com register (its free) and upload them there. then use the supplied [img] code and copy and paste it here.

Sounds like your shocks were shot anyway.. And Im guessing you are either sitting on bumpstop or frame now.

The back is still too high being that I have a 3" block and 3" drop leaf. Shocks are disconnected in the side view photos. I am still 2 inches distance between bump stop and frame. What to do?? I am trying to get the back down 2 more inches. all that remains is the sway bar linkage but that should pivot it seems and not restrict the height.

i would say your on the bump stops.....and your air shocks could lift the rear, but you unbolted them with no change, so check the bump stops

In this pic something doesn't look right with the leaf spring. It almost looks like the lower perch is twisted so your pinion angle is pointing downward. What leaf springs are you using, like what brand AND part number? Im thinking you have the wrong leafs in there possibly and its causing binding issues.

If you can, take the wheel off and take a side shot from about a foot back of the entire wheel area so that we can see the frame, bumpstop, and pinion angle of the rearend.

Also, what is the part number of the leaf spring that you have on there?

Yeah, that does look like it's "leaning" forward quit a bit. Your not using angled blocks are you?
