Informative, but just not very active anymore. Try using the search feature or head over to the 4.3 forum on S10forum. This question is asked all the time, so most people won't respond simply because there is already discussion on the topic.

Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, cold air intake, exhaust....not a bolt on, but a custom tune to go with everything

the 4.3L 6 speed was fun, but the 5.7L 6 speed was even more fun.

I did remove the bolt on from one vehicle but im planning on installing it on the zr2 in the future.

Im considering going back to a stock cam so i can run a stock tune. It would give me better low end power, so i could keep the stock torque convertor and be easier to tune.

im not looking for another 13 second truck. just something with a little more nuts than the old 4.3L has.

I hear ya.....i have that cam that is little more lift than the hotcam and I'm going to run it on a stock 4.3 converter. I like how the stock 4.3 converter is a 2200 stall stock, but under the V8 it flashes around 2600. I need to gain more mid to top end.....i can afford to lose the low end since I can't put it down now without losing traction.

i might go with a small aftermarket cam, but i would really like to run a stock cam so i can run a stock tune. That would make my life easier since no one local will touch a vortec engine with a 10 foot pole when it comes to tuning.
