    qiuck 20s question

I did some searching here and a few other sites and haven't found my exact answer so here it goes. Ok with income tax coming im putting some money away to find some used rims prob on Craigslist or threw a friend. I want to get some 20s and still lay out. I know the bolt pattern is 5x4.75 or 5x120.65. but im unsure on a few thing as for what off set I need and back spacing. how do I determine what the offset and backspace is on a used set of wheels? will most universal 5 lug fit? is there a way to messure the wheels with out trying to bolt them to the truck. what size tires should I run? and will I need to tub the fire wall? what width should I get 8.5 or 9?

if I find a rim that works and tires are chewed up or to big I can get a set of tires pretty cheap threw a friend so im not to worried about what tires size is on the wheels when I buy them.

Here's a few answers to your questions:

You want to try and get an 8" wide wheel if not and 8.5" then if you have to a 9" will work but you'd rather have a skinnier wheel so that you have plenty of room.

There's no such thing as a universal fit wheel.

To find the backspace on a used set of wheels here's what you can do, flip the wheel over so you can get to the back. Put a straight edge across the back side of the wheel then measure from the flat mount pad to the bottom of your straight edge. This will be your backspace.

    IF I remember correctly you will want to run a 245/45 r20 or a 235/45 r20 tire.

You don't have to tub the firewall with those size tires but you will have to massage them with a hammer to get it to fully lay.

As for the backspace you need, with an 8" wide wheel you will want a backspace of 4.5"
with an 8.5" wide wheel you will want a backspace of 4.75" to 5"
I would really try and stay away from a 9" wide wheel.
