Need help with putting in a floor shifter

I've looked a searched around for the info to install a floor shifter in my jimmy. But I couldn't find all of the answers I needed. I seen where it says you have to change the detent rod and I would like more info on it. I have one more part I need to do this so I'm close to doing it. I also need to know fixing the issues of the safety neutral switch and the reverse lights. How do I fix all of this to work still after I put in the floor shifter? Oh and any suggestions about a shifter handle that works with the push button on the shifter? I'm not sure if I want to use the stock handle.

Neutral safety and reverse lights can be found on a plug in the column. you'll have to extend the wires and hook them up to the floor shifter

i have a B&M megashifter in mine, so instead of linkage, there's just a flexible cable and some brackets that bolt to the trans oil pan

I knew about the plugs on the column but I don't know about the switches on the shifter. I got one out of a 96 jimmy and it doesn't have the switches on it. Extending them won't be an issue I just don't know about the switches, or the wires to the ones on the floor shifter. I didn't know about the switches at the time when I got the shifter. I still have to find the mounting plate that bolts to the floor.

you're putting a factory floor shifter in? Like from a 2nd gen xtreme?

It's a factory shifter but it was out of a gmc jimmy. The switches that it had were ripped out or flat out broken.
