Exclamation sluggish 93 vortech tahoe 2wd

What I've got is a 1993 blazer tahoe LT 4dr with the Vortech v6. I picked it up used 3 months ago with 13300 miles on it. Now that I've gotten used to it I started to push it just so slightly. Unfortunately I think My (beater !!) gmc safari with the porely rebuilt 4.3v6 performed better. I changed my fluids and got a tune up and "inspection" at the mechanic and I see no change. What should i look for? Please help me get this vortech purring? Slurfius.

It's CPI I think I'm new to this whole caring about my vehicle thing. Like I said, before this I just had a beater. It's the stock vortech setup, nothing has been done to it, yet. If it helps its the one with a flat air filter, (aren't they different?) Push it you know try to squeek the tires a little bit, high speed passing instead of following old ladies, nothing major. I think it's fast, but it could excellerate alot quicker. Let me put it this way I can't squeek the tires unless it's wet which dissapoints me because my beater safari could roast em if I wanted. I'm not talking about with my brakes. I can do a brake torque but I prefer not to. I want to spin them just from a dead start. My buddies got a 96 with a stock vortech and bald tires (which probably helps) that can squeek them all the way past 2nd with an automatic. My tires are brand new and they will only squeek in the rain without doing a brake torque. I haven't really tested to much of it's capabilities but I can just tell it doesn't have the power I wish it had. Any thoughts? Slurfius.

So you wanna squawk em from the start huh? Well, if you can brake stand it, wait till the light turns green, start a brake stand, then let off the brakes. they should keep spinning as you go forward. Problem solved.

And what kinda sissy doesn't "want to do brakestands"??? :D

I do enjoy brake stands just not the wear. What I really want is to be able to let off the brake, then hammer it and roast em. My beater could do it as long as I held it (thought I was going to distroy my tires a few times.) See what I'm saying. A gmc safari minivan that I bought beat to death could leave a patch as long as my street without even touching the brake. My blazers got a better engine, vortech as opposed to standard 4.3 in the beater. Am I the only person who thinks this is weird? By the way I'm not a sissy just misunderstood. Slurfius.

My dad has a 96 blazer vortech 4.3 auto, and it used to be pretty sluggish. He I bought him a K&N for his birthday. It has some balls now. He just got new tires, and when ever I take it out, i can spin well, one of them nicely. Its a tank thou. Thats the main reason.
